Participation of the UTAS-Sur in the Falling Walls Laboratory Competition - Sultanate of Oman for the year 2023

Student Taif Al-Sudairiyah, under the supervision of Dr. Haitham Zaki, Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Biotechnology at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Sur, participated in the Falling Walls Laboratory Competition - Sultanate of Oman for the year 2023 AD, which is held annually around the world.

An innovative idea was shared under the title: “Falling Walls Laboratory - Red Okra for Bio-Fortification to Avoid Hidden Hunger.”

Due to the high competitiveness in this global competition, the idea was chosen from among 95 applicants to qualify for the final stage.

Participation in these events comes within the framework of the university’s keenness to support innovation and pioneering ideas, and is in line with Oman Vision 2040.
