The General Requirements Unit warmly welcomes everyone to the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Shinas.
The General Requirements Unit aims to enhance oral and written communication skills, equipping students with persuasive abilities to effectively present their ideas and opinions. This is achieved through clear and concise communication, utilizing their linguistic knowledge to benefit from their acquired experiences in their respective fields, as they venture into the future job market.
Additionally, it offers dialogue sessions that serve the development of various communication skills through several channels, including the Arabic Language Lab, in collaboration with other departments and committees within the university community, such as student activities and scientific clubs available on campus.
The unit also implements the "We Read to Progress" initiative, which seeks to promote a culture of reading among students. The goal is to shape an enlightened and cultured generation capable of understanding the scientific, practical, and life aspects of daily life and effectively utilizing the available facilities in campus, such as the library and other scientific laboratories.
Furthermore, it provides developmental services to both the university and the external community, aiming to align scientific and practical progress with the era of technology and scientific advancement. It equips individuals with high-quality functional skills, based on scientific studies that serve the Oman Vision 2040.
