The Engineering Department at University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS)-Shinas, right from its inception is committed to provide high quality technical education for its students in core specializations of Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering as per the global market needs and in line with the vision and mission of University of Technology and Applied Sciences.
The department is blessed with experienced professionals as faculty who nourish the technical and professional skill requirement of the student community. We are presently offering Diploma, Advanced Diploma and Bachelor level programs in each specialization. We are practising student-centred learning in a technological pathway.
Engineering laboratories are equipped with facilities for practical based trainings in outcome-based education system. The undergraduate programs are designed to familiarize the student with the understanding of principles of design, operation, and maintenance of engineering systems.
Practical-based training along with the research practices through projects and mini projects enhance the skill sets of the students. Student chapters of international professional bodies like IEEE, iMechE, and ACI available in the department enrich qualities like leadership and teamwork among the students.
Our alumni who holds key positions in various government organizations and private industries is a real testimony of how our department functions.
