Welcome to the college of engineering and technology -Engineering and technology Department at UTAS-Salalah, the largest department in the University of Technology and Applied Sciences-Salalah.
Engineering Department is composed of five specializations: Civil and Architectural Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Mechanical Industrial Engineering. Each specialization is categorized into three levels: Diploma Second Year, Advanced Diploma, and Bachelor.
The department strives to leverage its resources towards strengthening and developing the innovation culture in the pursuit of excellence. Curricular offerings are regularly updated and transformed to meet industry demands considering the emergence of digital transformation, environmental sustainability, green energy, automation and robotics, artificial intelligence(AI) and other emerging trends in engineering education. Teaching is geared on analytical and problem solving skills, soft skills development, innovation, entrepreneurial and technical capabilities. Students’ exposure to application of principles through experimentation, research, projects, on-site trainings and collaboration with numerous organizations and companies have equipped our engineering graduates’ a greater access to entrepreneurial and employment opportunities.
With the University’s vision of becoming a leading technological and applied education institution that contributes to the development of a sustainable and knowledge-based society, the Engineering Department continuously provides its faculty with professional development programs to upskill their capabilities and imbue them with a strong sense of commitment and inclusion in mentoring , guiding and preparing our students to make a significant impact in the future of our beloved country, Oman.
