In Multimedia section, three specializations are offered for Post Foundation students namely: Information System, Networking, and Internet and E-Security.
Information System specialization is an independent specialization starting from the first year and has three levels; Diploma, Advance Diploma and Bachelor. Networking, and Internet and E-Security on the other hand have two levels; Advance Diploma and Bachelor and both specializations start after finishing two years of studying in Information Technology diploma program. The Networking specialization is affiliated with CISCO Networking Academy, and is currently operating as an Academy Support Center (ASC) and Instructor Training Center (ITC) for all existing CISCO Academies in the entire Sultanate of Oman. Some of the online courses from Cisco global academy are integrated in the Networking specialization curriculum and some are also utilized in the Internet & E-Security courses.
In those specializations, not only the latest in modern technologies, but emerging and current trends in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) industry are all incorporated in the course audit to meet the high market demands and requirements. Different teaching methodologies, strategies and best practices are being followed by the lecturers to enhance teaching and learning standards. The section highly adheres to the mission and vision of the College to deliver high quality student-centered education that produces competitive graduates who enter the labor market with confidence, strong technological and personal skills, that would make the College a leading technological institution empowering young future Omani professionals prepared for a life of contribution and success.
